Nurturing Your Marriage Through Parenthood | Caitlin Olsen

Caitlin Olsen - Marriage and Family Therapist

This talk was presented at the January 2018 I Am Mom Summit (an online conference for Moms).

Caitlin earned a Bachelor's of Arts in English Literature with an emphasis on American and British Modernism from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She then spent four years teaching preschool, tutoring high school students, and editing college papers. After the Air Force assigned her husband to Las Vegas, Caitlin earned a Master's of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from UNLV and opened a small private practice. As a student therapist, Caitlin was invited to join a small team of therapists in running a treatment program for couples affected by sexual addiction and betrayal trauma. That invitation was a turning point for Caitlin in both her career and personal growth. She became invested in promoting shame resiliency, sexual health, emotional strength, and self-compassion for all, and especially for those in the throes of trauma. In summer 2016, Caitlin was thrilled to close her private practice and join Addo in these endeavors.

Caitlin loves working with clients on their personal growth, whether through recovery from trauma and addiction, battling depression and disappointment, or managing marital stress and parenting. It is her privilege to get to know and have the opportunity to help those looking to change their lives.

Caitlin has completed upper-level training in Emotion Focused Therapy and is in the process of completing training as an Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. She has lived in Las Vegas for seven years and loves its diversity, weather, outdoor recreation, and people. She most enjoys spending time outside with her husband and three children.
